Filmoteca Canaria celebrates the 125th anniversary of the birth of John Ford, maker of more than 150 movies and winner of more Oscar awards than any other director, with a cycle featuring a revision of some of his most emblematic films.

Las uvas de la ira (The Grapes of Wrath)

Synopsis:

Forced by the drought and harassment by the banks, the Joads, a family of farmers from Oklahoma, set out on a troubled trip along Route 66 with the aim of finding work and a dignified life in California. If they left behind fields deserted because of the dust storms, on their trek they only encounter hardship, hunger and hostility in the towns they pass through. But neither the clear warnings to return, poor & disenchanted, nor death and the progressive breakup of the family, are sufficient for them to give up their commitment & goal.
