Public Libraries of the 21 municipalities of Gran Canaria and other institutions of the capital city will give away 12,000 books to the citizens to commemorate a double occasion: International Library Day, celebrated on Saturday 24 October and the Centenary of the death of Benito Pérez Galdós, which will be remembered this year with a countless number of different kinds of activities & undertakings.
