“Shock 2” begins where ‘Shock 1 ended, which started with the rise of the monetarist doctrine of Milton Friedman and his Chicago Boys (University of Chicago), and which continues to advance through the 2nd half of the XXth century. ‘Shock 2 (La Tormenta y la Guerra)’ begins in the 1980s, with the conservative revolution led in Europe by Margaret Thatcher and in the US by Ronald Reagan and culminating in the first major shock of the 21st century: the Iraq War, a war in which we were involved. Because that's what Shock is all about, reflecting on the extent to which we are partakers of our history, of our shocks, our traumatic blows, of our violence.
