Filmoteca Canaria dedicates the months of April & May to a film cycle featuring the US film director John Cassavetes (1929-1989), master of live filming ‘off the grid’, films that said something, and still do, about what “we don’t know” in his own words.

The films that will be shown during this cycle which are in the original version with Spanish subtitles, correspond to his early years of production, from 1959 till 1977, and are considered today as cult films, that attest to a personal process of going against the flow and always committed.

“FACES” (1968)

Synopsis: Richard Forst, a middle-aged married suburban businessman, has an affair with a young woman, immediately tells his wife he wants a divorce and leaves her to live with his lover. In the meantime, his wife goes out and meets a younger man in a bar and spends the night with him. The next morning Richard returns home.
