In a monologue format, Auxilio Lacouture, the protagonist of the story, narrates and investigates a heinous and distant crime. She is a middle-aged woman, a philosophy teacher, who hides for days in a school bathroom during a police raid in search of one of her primary students. Auxilio identifies with Casandra, someone who sees the future, and the past.
