The phenomenon of women’s football was born in England during the years of the First World War. Teams that became legendary, formed by women workers in textile or ammunition factories and who, in a short time, achieved enormous affection and attention from the public, provoking hostility from male football institutions.

After the war many of these teams were forced to dissolve by law following a few years of incredible success. With the return of the men from the front, the workers lost their jobs in factories and went home. This is the story of those women.
