The theme for the next International Museum Day 2023 (18 May) is “Museos, sostenibilidad y bienestar” (Museums, sustainability and well-being.

As indicated by ‘ICOM’ (International Council of Museums), museums contribute in a fundamental way to the well-being and sustainable development of our communities. As institutions of trust & important threads in our shared social fabric, they are in a unique position to create a cascading effect that encourages positive change.

And so, the Casa de Colón (Columbus House) and Museo y Parque Arqueológico Cueva Pintada (Museum and Archaeological Park Painted Cave) of Gáldar organize these Sessions, with a conference at each centre, looking to reflect on the transformative potential that museums have for sustainable development and well-being.
