Reading club organised by the writer & researcher Elízabeth Hernández Alvarado.
Monthly gathering: the 2nd Saturday of every month.
In a setting such as the House-Museum ‘Casa-Museo Pérez Galdós’, the talk will be of equality, and the inevitable result is that the name of Emilia Pardo Bazán will come to mind. A tireless writer, literary critic and an avowed feminist, she not only dedicated a large part of her life to vindicating women’s rights, but lived with total freedom, in a difficult period of coherence & rationality.
In keeping with her fighting personality, in constant struggle for equality, and in a club that bears her name, we approach exclusively the work of authors, in an attempt to balance the equation and listen to the voices of that half of the world that has not had the same opportunities in the world of literature and are absent or missing from text books.
