“Relato de un viajero” (Story of a Traveller), the first novel by Jesús Nicolás Socorro which narrates the relocation of Benito Pérez Galdós to Madrid in the middle of the XIXth century, where he planned to begin his law studies. In the ensuing chapters he relates the incidents & experiences in the steam vessel in which he voyaged, his encounter with a schooner and the transfer of some of its crew. Towards the middle of the account, the reader feels totally wrapped up with the adventures of the young Benito.

Jesús Nicolás, a sailor by profession, has his first venture into the world of literature to relate the adventures of the young Galdós.
