Founded in 1929 as one of the first radio orchestras in Germany, the “hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt “ has successfully negotiated the delicate balancing act between preserving tradition and modernity.

Conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the” hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt” brings to the islands a programme purely Russian: Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, featuring the young Japanese soloist Fumiaki Miura, and Symphony Nº5 by Shostakovich.
