The International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, due to be held between 9 and 18 April 2021, will offer, from 24 October 2020 onwards, sessions of two full-length feature films and one short one, which may be viewed always on Saturdays at the ‘Cinesa el Muelle’, fortnightly for the rest of this year and monthly in the year 2021.
The activity, presented as “Efecto Cinema”, recalls film titles planned for the edition which had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 crisis and combines some more recent ones that still haven’t been shown with classics & cult movies rarely projected on the big screen.
On 24 October “Efecto Cinema” will make its debut with an original selection of science-fiction: Last and First Men (2020, 71 minutes), which will be shown at 18:00 hours, preceded by a short French film, titled Vilaine fille mauvais garçon by Justine Triet (2012, 30 minutes).
At 20:30 horas, a little-known British masterpiece of disaster films, titled The day the earth caught fire, by Val Guest (1961, 98 minutes) will be projected.
