Vladimir (also called Didí, played by Alberto Jiménez) & Estragón (known as Gogó, Pepe Viyuela) are waiting near a tree by the side of a road for the arrival of Godot. They pass the time discussing some issues and arguing at times. They are interrupted by the arrival of Pozzo (Fernando Albizu), a cruel man claiming to be the owner of the land they were in, who had his servant Lucky (Juan Díaz), in tow with a rope around his neck. After Pozzo & Lucky have departed, a young lad (Jesús Lavi) arrives with a message from Godot: “Apparently, he’s not coming today, but will come tomorrow evening”.
