For the months of April & May 2021 ‘Filmoteca Canaria’, in collaboration with the Czech Centre in Madrid, the embassy of the Czech Republic and the Prague City Hall, programmes a cycle of ‘Cine Checo Actual’ (Current Czech Films). The movies that feature in said cycle, made in the last four years, show that behind the label of renegade cinema forged in the ‘60s, there is a cinematography as interesting as it is unknown.

“WINTER FLIES” (2018)

Synopsis: Two adolescent lads decide to embark on a journey by road in a stolen car. During the trip they experience all types of misadventures and a coming-of-age self-discovery and what they were capable of.  A road-trip comedy about the innocence, impulsiveness and irresponsibility of youth. The film won the Award for Best Director at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and six Czech Lion Awards, including Best Film & Best Director.
