54th Opera Season of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Alfredo Kraus 2021

Melodrama in one act with music by Pietro Mascagni and libretto in Italian by Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti & Guido Menasci, based on a story by the novelist Giovanni Verga. Considered as one of the classic operas of ‘Verismo’, it premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on 17 May 1890.
