The actress Mari Carmen Sánchez puts life into Shirley Valentine, the alter ego with which the housewife and mother of a family rebels against and leaves the restricted role society has bestowed on her. And all this with a sense of humour, the tenderness & understanding of human beings featured in the script by Willy Russell.
