This exhibition in the Martín Chirino Foundation gets together monographically, for the first time, a cycle known as “Reinas Negras” (Black Queens), the idea conceived at the start of the ‘50s decade by Martín Chirino (Las Palmas, 1925-Madrid, 2019). It deals with a reduced set of drawings & sculptures which, in the words of the artist, “was the beginning” of his known wrought iron work. The exhibition has been made possible as a result of the exhibits being borrowed from the museums & art centres, as well as private collectors.
