“Dos tablas y una pasión” is theatre in its purest form. The prime material: just passion ... AND ‘un par de tablas!’ (a pair of stages) (& even sometimes without stages). The phrase is attributed to Lope de Vega & also to Cervantes... But who coined it? The two “greats” have flooded the theatre with wit & poetry for all time.
