Five audio-visual pieces will be presented inspired by the novel “El barranco” (The Ravine), by the Cuban/Canarian poet & author Nivaria Tejera. The project, sponsored by the ‘Instituto Canario de Desarrollo Cultural’ (Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development), consists of five short films made by Canarian artists & film-makers Silvia Navarro, Daniasa Curbelo, Macu Machín, Estrella Monterrey Viña & Violeta Gil Quintana.

The presentation of this act will be conducted by the journalist Paola Llinares, who interviewed the philologist, teacher and researcher María Hernández Ojeda about the life & work of Nivaria Tejera.
