Since its inauguration in the year 2000, this festival has set out to find its own niche. Since then it has explored the work of filmmakers that move geographically and aesthetically on the periphery of the more conventional film industry.
This year the 21st edition of the Festival offers a number of approximately 95 film titles in its programme: 55 full-length feature and 40 short & medium length films, divided into 134 sessions over a period of ten days.
The full-length feature films competing in the ‘Official Section’ will have three showings; the first (single matine) will be for members of the press & judges, although these films will then also be shown to the general public.
In other sections, the number of sessions will vary between one & two showings, variant that is reflected in the programme with the annotation “pase único”(single), “primer pase”(first) or “último pase”(last).
