The ‘Bamberger Symphoniker’ is an extraordinary orchestra in an extraordinary city. The inhabitants say that Bamberg without its ‘Symphony’ would be a city lacking something essential. But this German musical ensemble is far more than the musical centre of the city and the entire region. The attending audience will be able to judge for themselves in this new edition of the Festival, where they appear conducted by Czech Jakub Hrusa, a conductor with a rising career path who will soon assume his post as music director at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London.
