The Satirical singing groups Contest of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival is one of the historical contests of the festival, whose first edition dates back to 1977.
The event takes place entirely in Santa Catalina park before a massive audience, and in the modern version of the Carnival is staged on three nights of preliminary phases : Monday 23 (1st phase), Tuesday 14 (2nd phase) & Thursday 26 (3rd phase) at 20:45 hours.
