At the age of 25, Momi Maiga is outstanding as a virtuoso of his instrument (the kora), as well as for his vocal fluency and as an intriguing, self-taught composer with amazing musical sensitivity.

‘Nio’  means soul in ‘Mandinka/Mandingo’, the native language of the young Senegalese musician, singer & composer Momi Maiga. The ‘kora’ and his voice are his vehicle for transmitting to us reflections on human values. ‘Nio’ becomes magic for all the senses. Casamance, Mexico & Catalonia merge in a sea of sounds and transcontinental rhythms that surprise for every second of the performance.
