  John Hawkins appeared off the coast of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Cana
 ria in an attempt to assault the main island institutions, make off with th

 ’s maritime dominance under Felipe II, which was so damaging to the e
 xpansion of the rising British Empire. This assault was repelled by an orga
 nized population that prevented their landing.\n\n\nThis happening is yet a

 s. El ataque de sir Francis Drake”, hosted at the museum ‘
