 Fabio Rubiano & directed by Mario Vega, this coproduction with ´u
 nahoramenos´ is based on the chronicles written by Don Benito, relate
 d to an incident that stirred up the society of that time.\n\n\nOn 2 July 1
 988, at number 109, Fuencarral Street in Madrid, the dead body of Lucia Bor
 sino, widow of Vázquez Varela, was found with multiple stab wounds a
 nd still ablaze wrapped in rags soaked in petrol. In fact, it was the smell
  of something burning that alerted the neighbours. In an adjacent room. lyi
 ng drugged was her maid servant Higinia Balaguer, and her pet bulldog.\n\n\
 nAnd so began the incident that shook up the society of that time, triggere
 d off a parallel trial in the press and also led to a number of very differ
 ent theories as to what actually happened and who the culprit was. Benito P
 érez Galdós became the chronicler of this incident for the ne
 wspaper ´La prensa´, of Buenos Aires. It was a controversial &a
 mp; lengthy process, that ended with the last public execution by the despi
 cable garrote in Spain. Don Benito used references to this in his nove
