"Los durmientes" (The Sleepers) is a project that has come about from a work that the artist has been developing since 2008, with a previous first work called “Brisas” (Breezes), where in a sequence plan which crosses the palace of ‘La Moneda’, ‘Los durmientes’ (The sleepers) takes as a starting element "los lanzados al mar” (those thrown into the sea) in plain dictatorship. In Chile everything is silent until death and its geography is perfect for impunity and silence. Approximately 500 bodies were launched into the sea between 1973 and 1978, only one appeared expelled by the water....
