The ´Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno´, (Atlantic Centre of Modern Art) of Gran Canaria, presents the exhibition Mal de mar hacia un triste trópico. Notas sobre la otra isla, by the Venezuelan artist based in Berlin Marco Montiel-Soto, a project commissioned by Lidia Gil Calvo, which can be visited from 9 August to 20 October at the premises pertaining to CAAM-San Antonio Abad. 

The exhibition puts forward a reflection regarding the connection that unites the Canaries with Venezuela; two dots on the planet that are geographically distanced by more than 5,700 kilometres, yet at the same time, joined together by a historical traditionlinked by the migratory movements in both directions and, since the days of Columbus, much enhanced by advances in navigation and the favourable winds & currents of the Atlantic ocean.
