Photographic display about the archeological sites of our ancestors.

The Canaries is one of the regions with the greatest density of archeological sites per unit on a global scale. The extraordinary quality, variety & uniqueness of these confer special significance & relevance on the indigenous culture.

The ´amazigh´ cultural heritage of the first group of people from North Africa who inhabited the Canary Islands clashed in a way completely alien to the environment known to them until then. The evolution & adaptation to the new natural conditions by this primitive society marked distinctive & unique characteristics to the Canarian indigineous identity over the period of centuries of isolation.

´Raíz Amazigh´ is an informative display that shows the natural surroundings, cave paintings, sacred areas, constructions destined for housing and those for communal usage, troglodyte hamlets, funeral customs and other features pertinent to the indigenous Canarian culture.
