With their base in Porto, the Portuguese Symphony Band staged its presentation concert on 1 January 2005 in Rivoli, the Municipal Theatre of Oporto, where it also recorded its first CD, whilst receiving considerable backing & support from ´Culturporto´ and others. 

PortoLazer was employed in the promotion & expansion of their project. In April 2010 they launched their first album, titled "A Portuguesa" featuring pieces exclusively by Portuguese composers in a concert held at the auditorium in the Faculty of Engineering in Porto. They have been regularly recording other productions, namely,  "Traveler" (2011), "Hamlet" (2012), "Oásis" (2013), "Grand Concert for Orchester d´Harmonie" (2014), "Symphonic" with Quinta do Bill (2015), "Trilogía romana" (2015), "Oporto" (2016) and "El barco fantasma" (2017).
