On 12 December in an act inspired by "La noche estrellada" (A starry night) by Van Gogh, the lights on a tree will be lit commemorating the date of the inauguration of a statue of César Manrique. Music by the carousal “Parranda” pertaining to the ´Conservatorio Profesional´ (Professional Conservatory) of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will set the rhythm for the start of Christmas in Mata.

The nativity scene may be visited between 10:00 to 13:00 hours, Tuesdays & Thursdays also from 17:00 to 20:00 hours, on Saturdays and the first Sunday of the month, from 11:00 to 14:00 hours.

On 19, 20 & 21 December, there will feature performances of jazz music “Jazz entre muros” with a daily double programme (at 20:00 & 21:00 hours). Entrance is free with prior withdrawal of invitation.

On 26, 27 & 28 December, the fort will be the venue for a show “Nueve cañones sin banda”, featuring nine singer-composers, three daily (at 20:00, 21:00 & 22:00 hours), who will take the stage on the patio of the museum -  ´Museo Castillo de Mata´ to entertain the audience with their lyrics, ideas & melodies.
