The International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, due to be held between 9 and 18 April 2021, will offer, from 24 October 2020 onwards, sessions of two full-length feature films and one short one, which may be viewed always on Saturdays at the ‘Cinesa el Muelle’, fortnightly for the rest of this year and monthly in the year 2021.

The activity, presented as “Efecto Cinema”, recalls film titles planned for the edition which had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 crisis and combines some more recent ones that still haven’t been shown with classics & cult movies rarely projected on the big screen.

The programme “Efecto Cinema” returns on 28 November with a programme featuring entirely African films: This Is not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection, by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, a nominated contender in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category at the coming Oscar Awards, and a short film by the same director, as well as a classic of Egyptian films: Al-Mummia (The Night of Counting the Years) by Shadi Abd al-Salam.
