Guided tour by Artemi Alejandro-Medina, archaeologist and historian.

The Manuel Lois barracks were built in theTamaraceite ravine during the Second World War. This complex of tunnels were designed with a view to Spain entering the war on the side of Germany & Italy. Franco aspired to form a great African empire supported by a large submarine fleet and the barracks was meant to be used to assemble & store torpedoes.

Meeting place: bus stop in front of the hotel AC Gran Canaria 

  • Limited places.
  • Each participant should be present 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting place.
  • Prior registration is required available from 6 May onwards.
  • All walks are free.
