It is the official start of the Carnival: a show where the protagonists are the attending public and Master of Ceremonies (MC). It is an integrating act that is preceded by a parade that livens up the streets with ‘batucadas’ (percussion groups) and other carnival dance rhythms.

‘El pregón’(The proclamation) features the participation of shortened performances by carnival groups and of contenders to the throne who are joined by the outgoing winners.

The last stage of the Carnival Proclamation night’s celebration will close with a grand concert.
